italian herb bread
Tired of making the same ol' (homemade) white bread, I asked if I could bring the bread for our friends' Christmas party. Then I pulled out our bread machine manual, found Italian Herb (they LOVE flavor), and finally, asked a different friend if she'd find out from the family chef how much herbs he'd use for a two pound loaf. The original said 1 tablespoon, the friend reported FOUR! Not afraid of spices, I used 4 and it was a big hit!

Ingredients
- 1 cup water, plus
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons dry milk
- 4 cups bread flour
- 4 tablespoons dried italian herb seasonings
- 1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

Step 1Layer all ingredients in the bread machine as is. Set the program for Choice #1. Set the timer if appropriate. Start the machine.
