I normally make this on rainy days... When it's a winter or rainy day I serve it cold. When it's not rainy or winter I serve warm :)

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup - yellow cornmeal
  • 1 Cup - flour
  • 1/3 cup - sugar
  • 4 Tbs - baking powder
  • 1/2 Tsp - salt
  • 1 Cup - milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 - egg (beaten)
  • 1/4 Cup - vegetable oil

How To Make grandma's corn bread

  • Step 1
    #1:Pre-Heat oven to 400 degrees
  • Step 2
    #2:Mix dry ingredients in a bowl & set aside
  • Step 3
    #3:In a 2nd Bowl mix wet ingredients together
  • Step 4
    #4:Mix dry & wet ingredients together
  • Step 5
    #5:Pour batter in a greased "8X"8 baking pan
  • Step 6
    #6:Bake 25 minutes or until top is slightly brown
  • Step 7
    #7:Serve warm Or cool
