Ingredients
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1 tablespoon instant onion
- 1 - beaten egg
- 1 tablespoon dill seed
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
How To Make dilly bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm, stirring constantly. Combine dissolved yeast and warm cottage cheese in large bowl.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and beat well. Cover. Let rise 1 hour. Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth. Shape into 2 loaves. Let rise until double.

Step 3Bake 45-50 minutes. While bread is warm, brush with butter and sprinkle lightly with salt. I do not put bread in a pan to bake. I just roll dough into 2 balls and place on a well greased baking sheet.
