1/2 cwhite corn meal
1/4 cyellow corn grits
1/4 cgranulated sugar
3 tspbaking powder
2 Tbspmelted butter, butter substitute, or bacon fat
How to Make Cornbread
- Mix together dry ingredients until well blended
- Add beaten egg, melted butter & milk. Stir just until all ingredients moist. Do not overmix.
- Pour into an 8x8" or 9x9" glass baking pan.
- Bake in a pre-heated 425 degree oven for 20 minutes.
- Cut into 9 squares and serve with butter and honey or sorghum.
