cornbread
I didn't have yellow cornmeal so decided to use what I had... white cornmeal and yellow corn grits. It made a very tasty, moist & slightly crumbly cornbread. This is how I will make it from now on! My husband liked it so well he ate 3 pieces!

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup white corn meal
- 1/4 cup yellow corn grits
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, butter substitute, or bacon fat
How To Make cornbread

Step 1Mix together dry ingredients until well blended

Step 2Add beaten egg, melted butter & milk. Stir just until all ingredients moist. Do not overmix.

Step 3Pour into an 8x8" or 9x9" glass baking pan.

Step 4Bake in a pre-heated 425 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Step 5Cut into 9 squares and serve with butter and honey or sorghum.
