(1 RATING)
This recipe was given to my husband from a little old lady in a nurseing home he worked at. I made these when I owned my bakery and couldn't keep them on the shelf.

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
How To Make cheese straws
-
Step 1Allow cheese and margarine to reach room temp. or become soft. Grate the cheese.
-
Step 2Mix all the ingredients together. Fill a cookie press with the dough. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Using press, put the dough onto cookie sheet and cut into the desired length.
-
Step 3cook in 325 degree ocen for approximately 15 min or until slightly brown. Cool on brown paper.
-
Step 4You can use a rolling pin and roll these out on a flour service. Roll real thin and cut into strips. I hated useing the press it was a pain. Also if you want to add more cayenne for a tangier straw do so.
