A fellow charity worker brought this to a luncheon--and I was hooked! This is better than any "beer batter bread I have ever made!

Makes one loaf
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm, flat beer (105-115 degrees)
- 1 - envelope dry yeast
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup peeled, seeded, chopped ripe tomato
- 3/4 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 - pieces bacon, cooked extra crisp
- 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
How To Make cheddar bacon beer bread

Step 1Combine beer and yeast in mixing bowl and let stand until yeast is dissolved; add remaining ingredients and blend well.

Step 2Pour into a greased 9x5 loaf pan, cover with towel, and let rise until doubled (about an hour).

Step 3Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 4Bake 30 minutes.

Step 5Let cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan and finish cooling on a wire rack.
