Ingredients

  • 2 - loaves frozen white bread dough, thawed
  • 1/2 pound mild pork sausage
  • 1/2 pound hot pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How To Make breakfast sausage bread

  • Step 1
    Allow dough to rise until nearly doubled.
  • Step 2
    Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, cook and crumble sausage.
  • Step 3
    Add mushrooms and onion. Cook and stir until the sausage is browned and vegetables are tender; drain. Cool.
  • Step 4
    Beat 1 egg; set aside.
  • Step 5
    To sausage mixture, add 2 eggs, cheese and seasonings; mix well.
  • Step 6
    Roll each loaf of dough into a 16x12" rectangle. Spread half the sausage mixture on each loaf to within 1" of edges. Roll jelly-roll style, starting at a narrow end; seal edges. Brush with beaten egg.
  • Step 7
    Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 until golden brown.
