this recipe was invented on a whim by throwing what I had together for dinner. It was a hit! I did not measure anything so all weights are approximate. Adjust to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 - loaf frozen bread dough, thawed & allowed to rise for 8 hours
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 3 tablespoons salad cubed pickles
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mild salsa
  • 12 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make bacon cheeseburger bread

  • Step 1
    brown ground beef and bacon in large skillet.
  • Step 2
    add remaining ingredients; hold 4 oz. cheese. cook through.
  • Step 3
    in a greased baking dish add bread dough, slice down middle.
  • Step 4
    fill with mixture and try to pinch edges together.
  • Step 5
    bake for 15 minutes in a pre heated 350 degree oven.
  • Step 6
    remove and add remaining cheese. return to oven for 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
  • Step 7
    let sit for 5 minutes before slicing. enjoy!
