Wondering what to do with that old bread in your cupboard? Try making some croutons in the microwave and store them for later. All you need is some bread and butter.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups bread cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic or onion salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

How To Make microwave croutons

  • Step 1
    Place bread cubes in a large, low bowl Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cubes begin to dry
  • Step 2
    Sprinkle with flavored salt and toss with melted butter to coat evenly. Microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring each minute, until crispy and dry Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Step 3
    Tip: Italian Croutons: Add 1 tablespoon Italian herb seasoning when salt and butter are added
