Something a little different used as a side with soup or salad or however you wish. This recipe is from http://www.tarladalal.com. It's a great site with lots of marvelous recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oats flour, see tip
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
  • 2 teaspoons dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • 2 teaspoons black sesame seeds (kala til)
  • 2 tablespoons fat free, sugar free yogurt (dahi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste (lehsun)
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • - salt or salt sub to taste
  • - whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling

How To Make baked oat puri, diabetic

  • Step 1
    Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a stiff dough using just enough water and this may vary by season.
  • Step 2
    Divide the dough into 20 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 75 mm. (3”) diameter circle using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
  • Step 3
    Prick the rolled out puris with a fork at regular spacing.
  • Step 4
    Arrange them on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 20 minutes, turning them once after 10 minutes or till they turn crisp.
  • Step 5
    Serve or store in an air-tight container.
  • Step 6
    Tip: For 1/2 cup of oat flour, blend ½ cup of quick cooking rolled oats to a smooth powder.
