savory cornmeal waffles
These waffles are great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast with egg on top and bacon on the side. Lunch with soup and a salad. Dinner great with sausage gravy or with your favorite chiii or chowder.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups bisquick
- 1 cup cornmeal yellow or white
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 dash salt
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped tops only green onion
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 dash hot sauce
How To Make savory cornmeal waffles

Step 1In a large bowl, place egg, milk, oil and hot sauce. Whisk with fork until well blended.

Step 2In another bowl combine Bisquick, cornmeal, brown sugar, salt, cheese, and green onion tops. Whisk to combine.

Step 3Dump dry mixture into wet mixture and whisk with a fork until combine. Let batter rest 3 minutes before using.

Step 4Preheat waffle maker to desired setting. Pour 2 cups of batter onto tje center of the lower grid of the preheated waffle maker-spread batter evenly using a heat proof spatula. Close lid of waffle maker. When tone sounds remove waffles carefully, using a fork to lift up. Repeat with remaing batter.
