Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups pears, peeled and chopped
- TOPPING
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger, shredded
- 2 teaspoons butter, melted
How To Make pear ginger muffins

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Line muffin pans with papers.

Step 3Beat brown sugar, oil and egg until well blended.

Step 4Beat in buttermilk.

Step 5Add flour, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon and beat until blended.

Step 6Fold in pears.

Step 7Fill muffin cups two-thirds full.

Step 8Topping: Combine brown sugar and ginger.

Step 9Stir in butter until crumbly.

Step 10Sprinkle Topping over muffins.

Step 11Bake 18-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

Step 12Cool in pan 5 minutes before removing to wire rack.
