1combine 1st 5 ingredients and set aside.
mix sugar and shortening well then add eggs and mix well.
2mash ripe bananas on a separate plate.
Add 1/2 of bananas to sugar mixture and mix. then add 1/2 of flour mixture and mix. then repeat with remainder. do not overmix. Add walnuts and chocolate chips and stir in.
3Use a bread loaf pan greased and floured. Bake 350, 55 minutes. test with a toothpick.
4I like to double this recipe and make 1 loaf and 12 muffins. for muffins grease and flour 12 cupcake pan
and bake 350, 25 minutes.
