mom's banana nut bread

This is an old recipe from the 60's and I always get rave reviews from it. Recipe can be doubled. Can also be made into muffins.

Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 3 - ripe bananas
- 1 cup walnuts
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
How To Make mom's banana nut bread

Step 1combine 1st 5 ingredients and set aside. mix sugar and shortening well then add eggs and mix well.

Step 2mash ripe bananas on a separate plate. Add 1/2 of bananas to sugar mixture and mix. then add 1/2 of flour mixture and mix. then repeat with remainder. do not overmix. Add walnuts and chocolate chips and stir in.

Step 3Use a bread loaf pan greased and floured. Bake 350, 55 minutes. test with a toothpick.

Step 4I like to double this recipe and make 1 loaf and 12 muffins. for muffins grease and flour 12 cupcake pan and bake 350, 25 minutes.
