Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup toasted chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/3 cup butter,melted
- 1 large egg,beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
How To Make maple walnut muffins

Step 1To toast chopped walnuts:place in a single layer on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes.

Step 2Stir together sifted flour,brown sugar,baking powder,baking soda and salt.

Step 3Stir toasted nuts into dry ingredients.

Step 4In another bowl,stir together buttermilk,maple syrup,butter,egg,vanilla and maple extract until blended.

Step 5Add buttermild mixture to dry ingredients and stir just to combine.

Step 6Spoon batter into greased or lined muffin tins.

Step 7Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 min.
