  • 1 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 large
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    wesson butter flavored oil
  • 1 c
    bananas, mashed
  • 2/3 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    broken nut meats

How to Make Grandmother's Banana Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Sift the flour, baking soda, salt and sugar together. Set aside. Beat eggs, milk, oil, bananas and vanilla together until smooth. Stir in dry ingredients and broken nut meats. Mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
  2. You can make a glaze of 1 cup powdered sugar, 4 Tbsp. milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla for cake, if desired.
