Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 cup minced onion
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make ~ golden cheddar muffins ~

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degree F. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, onion powder and baking powder. Stir in onion and cheese. Whisk together milk, egg and butter. Pour into flour mixture and stir until all of the flour mixture is moistened.
  • Step 2
    Spoon mixture evenly into greased muffin tins. A heaping tablespoon to start, once all tins are full, if you have leftover batter - evenly distribute between each muffin. I then sprinkle each top with extra cheese.
  • Step 3
    Bake for 20 minutes or until pick inserted into center comes out clean. Best served fresh from oven.
