This is like Bisquick mix ..Makes excellent pancakes,biscuits,Crepes,,Coffee cakes..This keeps in the fridge for several weeks in a glass jar lightly covered...
I found this in a old cookbook from 1959..I LOVE old cookbooks

Ingredients

How to Make Ever Ready Blend

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix flour ,baking powder and salt together...
  2. Sift all together into a large mixing bowl..
  3. Cut shortening into the dry ingredients with a pastry blender or with 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal...
  4. Store in covered glass jars or crockery bowl for several weeks..
    I store mine in the Fridge ..
  5. Makes 5 3/4 quarts
