This is my Mom's recipe for cornbread. Growing up as a kid we use to eat cornbread quite a lot. It was always so yummy and warm.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 medium egg
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup safflower oil

How To Make cornbread

  • Step 1
    Mix all dry ingredients together.
  • Step 2
    Add milk, egg and oil and mix well.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a greased 8x10 pan or muffin cups.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown on top.
