brown sugar muffins
These are the best sweet muffins that can be spread with anything you can think of. I love them with my homemade blackberry jam! 8)

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make brown sugar muffins

Step 1In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture just until they are blended.

Step 2Fill paper lined muffin cups 3/4th's full. Bake at 400 for 16-20 minutes or until center tests done. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. 1 dozen.
