This was Grandma W's sister in law, and she made these muffins since Grandpa W liked them so much. Thank goodness she shared the recipe! The hubby likes Blueberry Muffins about as much as Grandpa did!

Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg, well beaten
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 6 Tbsp
    shortening, melted
  • 1 c
    blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar

How to Make Blueberry Muffins, Aunt Dorothy Wieliczko's

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift together flour, powder, salt and 1/4 c sugar. Combine egg, milk and shortening and add all at once to flour mixture. Stir until dry ingredients are moist but still lumpy. Fold in blueberries. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 400 degrees about 25 min.
