Ingredients
- 1 cup flour, unbleached
- 2/3 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins or sultanas
- 1 cup currants
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup tea
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon molasses
How To Make bara brith muffins

Step 1Mix together flour, wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, soda and nutmeg.

Step 2Mix in raisins and currants.

Step 3In another bowl whisk egg with melted butter, tea, buttermilk and molasses. Quickly add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, stirring 10 seconds.

Step 4Spoon into greased muffin tins.

Step 5Bake at 400 degrees 15-20 minutes.
