This recipe came from my Grandma in Boston. This was very popular up north. So easy to make for morning sweet breads.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup applesauce
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup walnuts
How To Make apple sauce loaf

Step 1Cream butter and sugar together until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add applesauce and vanilla.

Step 2In seperate bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking soda and powder, cinnamon and allspice. Add all this to creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in nuts and raisins.

Step 3Bake a 350 in a greased and floured loaf pan 9x5 for 55 to 60 minutes. Or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Step 4Very good served with cream cheese and apple butter.
