This is a great way to eat cornbread. It's always been my favorite; even with green, chilli or just by themselves. You'll love them.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 c
yellow cornmeal
1 c
all purpose flour
1/4 c
sugar
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1
egg
2 Tbsp
oil ( i use bacon fat ) veg. oil will due
1 c
milk

ADD ALL DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER IN MEDIUM MIXING BOWL

How to Make Down Home Flap-Jacks

Step-by-Step

  • 1After adding all dry ingredients to bowl...
  • 2Add egg, oil and milk.
  • 3mix well. batter should be thick
  • 4heat frying pan with oil 2 teaspoon of oil
  • 5Add 2 large spoonfull of batter in pan
  • 6bubbles will form on top when ready to flip over
  • 7check bottom, should be golden brown
  • 8flip Carfully
  • 9cook till golden on opposite side

    repeat till all Flap-Jacks are cooked
