This is a great way to eat cornbread. It's always been my favorite; even with green, chilli or just by themselves. You'll love them.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil ( i use bacon fat ) veg. oil will due
  • 1 cup milk
  • ADD ALL DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER IN MEDIUM MIXING BOWL

    mix well. batter should be thick

    heat frying pan with oil 2 teaspoon of oil

    Add 2 large spoonfull of batter in pan

    bubbles will form on top when ready to flip over

    check bottom, should be golden brown

    flip Carfully
