Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 - eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make spiced applesauce bread

  • Step 1
    In mixer bowl, thoroughly combine applesauce, the sugar, oil, eggs and milk. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and allspice. Stir into applesauce mixture; beat well. Fold in the 1/2 cup pecans, turn into well greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Combine 1/4 cup pecans, the brown sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon; sprinkle over batter. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack.
