This is a recipe for Philippine Pandesal. This recipe can also be used to make Pan de Coco, Ensymada and Pan de Ube.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margerine
  • 5 1/2 cups all purpose flour

How To Make pandesal

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in a bread machine and mix on dough setting until machine finishes cycle.
  • Step 2
    Once dough is made, place on cutting board and cut dough into 5 pieces and set aside. Take one piece and cut into 1 ounce pieces and take the pieces and roll with hands until smooth. Repeat until all dough is rolled into rolls.
  • Step 3
    Place rolled dough on a greased sheet pan and allow to rise in a draft free place for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Once dough has risen, bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
  • Step 5
    Once rolls come out of the oven, brush tops with butter to keep the bread soft.
