This is a recipe for Philippine Pandesal. This recipe can also be used to make Pan de Coco, Ensymada and Pan de Ube.

  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 large
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 1/3 c
  • 5 Tbsp
    butter or margerine
  • 5 1/2 c
    all purpose flour

How to Make Pandesal


  1. Place all ingredients in a bread machine and mix on dough setting until machine finishes cycle.
  2. Once dough is made, place on cutting board and cut dough into 5 pieces and set aside. Take one piece and cut into 1 ounce pieces and take the pieces and roll with hands until smooth. Repeat until all dough is rolled into rolls.
  3. Place rolled dough on a greased sheet pan and allow to rise in a draft free place for 20 minutes.
  4. Once dough has risen, bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Once rolls come out of the oven, brush tops with butter to keep the bread soft.
