mum's applesauce bread
My mum works as a cook at a daycare centre, the kids there love this bread, and so do I. This recipe calls for raisins, but I like to add walnuts sometimes as well.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup raisins
How To Make mum's applesauce bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F. Cream butter and sugar.

Step 2Add egg and mix well.

Step 3Stir in applesauce, mixing well.

Step 4Sift together flour, spices and baking soda. Stir in raisins (and walnuts if you add some) to flour mix.

Step 5Add dry to wet ingredients, mix until no flour is visible.

Step 6Pour into a greased loaf pan, bake for 45-60 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean).
