  • 1 tsp
    granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch

How to Make MAPLE FRENCH TOAST

Step-by-Step

  1. In a wide, shallow bowl, mix together eggs, milk, sugar, salt and maple extract.
  2. Over medium heat, melt butter in 10-12 inch skillet.
  3. Working with one at a time, place slice of bread in egg mixture for 5 or 6 seconds, turn it over in the mixture to completely coat then place in skillet with melted butter.
  4. Repeat with remaining slices.
  5. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, checking undersides for browning; turn slices over when puffed up and golden brown on bottom.
  6. When both sides are lightly browned, remove to warm plate.
  7. Serve with warm maple syrup and powdered sugar for garnish, if desired. (A few strips of crispy bacon on the side is a great accompaniment!)
  8. Refrigerate any leftovers.
