My husband has a huge sweet tooth. These little morsels are just enough to satisfy that craving without going overboard. Break time with a cup of coffee is just what the Doctor ordered. After posting this recipe, I realized that my recipe needs a lot more flour than I had used . I think about 5 cups would be about right. Sorry, folks for the mess up.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup scalded milk, then cooled
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup splenda sugar
  • 3-4 cups white flour
  • 2 cups finely chopped apple

  • Step 1
    scald milk, then set aside
  • Step 2
    dissolve yeast in warm water, add beaten egg, splenda, salt, cinnamon, mix well I use a kitchen aid
  • Step 3
    add flour a little at a time, the dough will be sticky. turn into a greased bowl, cover and let rise till double.
  • Step 4
    heat vegetable oil in large pan to 325 and drop tablespoons of dough into hot oil. cook till golden brown. let cool and roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar and enjoy.
