I made this yummy bread for our Christmas breakfast and it was very good!

  • 4 large
  • 2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    chopped dates
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour ( keeps dates from sticking together)
  • 1 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped

How to Make Date Walnut Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 350. In a standing mixer cream eggs, sugar, butter and water. Combine flour, salt and baking powder and add this to creamed mixture.
  2. In a small bowl mix chopped dates & walnuts with 1 Tbsp. flour and blend together, this will keep your dates and nuts from sticking together and sinking to the bottom of your bread.
  3. Pour batter into a greased 13x9 inch baking dish and spread evenly. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until bread tests done in the center.
