Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 - large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 cups peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

How To Make cocoa bread with stewed peaches

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour Ann 8 inch square pan.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together first 4 ingredients, let cool. Whisk in eggs. Sift next 4 ingredients together and whisk into egg mixture. Pour into pan and bake 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, cook peaches. Bring peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water to boil over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolved. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
