This comes from trying to combine things that both my sons loved, so I would only have to make one.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    butter, unsalted
  • 1 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    banana, mashed,ripe
  • 1/4 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c
    walnuts,chopped(optional)

How to Make Ckocolate Chip Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Line bottom of a greased 9 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until crumbly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the bananas, buttermilk, vanilla. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Fold in chips.
  3. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 60 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for ten minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack; remove paper.
