This recipe was given to me by Nancy Eckerty when I was first married. It is very easy to make and smells and tastes delicious! It can be made any time, not just on Christmas morning.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 30 Min
method Bake
yield 6 to 8

Ingredients

  • 1 bag or 24 frozen rolls (bridgeford or rhodes frozen, unbaked balls of dough)
  • 1 small package butterscotch pudding mix (not instant)
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter (not margarine)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

How To Make christmas morn coffeecake (monkey bread)

  • Step 1
Before going to bed (or by 10pm), sprinkle nuts in a greased bundt pan.
  • Step 2
Then put the 24 frozen rolls into the bundt pan.
  • Step 3
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and pudding mix together and sprinkle evenly over rolls.
  • Step 4
Melt butter and slowly pour over rolls, trying to cover all of the sugar mixture.
  • Step 5
Cover pan loosely with foil. Leave on counter overnight. When you get up in the morning, the rolls should have risen.
  • Step 6
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake rolls for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and pour rolls upside down onto a large platter. Serve warm!
