- BATTER
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- CINNAMON/SUGAR MIXTURE
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

If you use a glass baking dish, lower the baking temperature to 325 degrees F and bake 10 - 15 minutes longer or until a tester in the center of the bread comes out clean. If you only have unsalted butter, add 1/4 tsp of salt to the recipe.

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, 1 cup of sugar, and an egg.

Step 2Add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda.

Step 3Mix in a separate bowl, 1/3 c sugar and cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl.

Step 4Put 1/2 of the batter (or a little less) into a greased metal loaf pan (9x5).

Step 5Sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture on top of the batter.

Step 6Add remaining batter to pan.

Step 7Sprinkle with last of cinnamon topping.

Step 8Swirl with a knife.

Step 9Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until a toothpick tester comes clean.

Step 10Cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing from pan.
