Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds (optional)
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 - raisins

How To Make irish soda bread

  • Step 1
    Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl combine eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter. Pour and combine the wet ingredients and mix with a spoon.
  • Step 3
    Once mixed, pour into a 8-9 inch pan that been greased and floured.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes
