honey whole grain wheat bread

I use my bread machine to mix and rise the dough, then I bake it in the oven in a bread pan. The prep and cook times below are for my method of making this bread as mentioned above. If you would like to do the whole thing in your bread machine, go by your manufacturer's time for the whole wheat bread cycle.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (hot from the tap)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 1/4 cups whole wheat flour (i use king arthur brand)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vital wheat gluten
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed meal
  • 3 tablespoons whole grain dough enhancer (i use king arthur brand)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

How To Make honey whole grain wheat bread

  • Step 1
    Follow your bread machine's general instructions for adding ingredients. Some say to put wet ingredients in first, then dry, then the yeast (mine does).
  • Step 2
    Set bread machine to dough setting and turn on.
  • Step 3
    When there is approximately 15 minutes left on the dough cycle, preheat the oven and spray a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step 4
    When dough is ready, remove from bread machine and form into loaf shape. Place in loaf pan and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
