This is a wonderful easy bread to make.Just remember to soak the cracked wheat the day before mailing the bread.

- - 1 c cracked wheat
- - 1 c cold water
- - 1 c milk
- - 1 tablespoon salt
- - 1 tablespoon shortening
- - 1/4 c molasses
- - 2 pkgs yeast
- - 1/2 c warm water
- - 6-7 c all-purpose flour
How To Make cracked wheat bread

Step 1Soak cracked wheat in cold water overnight Scald mild ;add salt,shortening and molasses;cool to lukewarm Add to cracked wheat Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c warm water Add to cracked wheat mixture Begin adding flour to make a stiff but plyable dough. Let rise until double in bulk Divide dough into 2 loaf pans. Let rise until double in size. Bake in a hot oven 375 deg.for 10 mins.Turn temperature down to 350 deg.bake 25 mins.Turn out on cooling rack to cool completely.
