This is such an easy recipe to use, when wanting flat bread pizza, but don't want to pay the price they want for them at the stores. Home made is always better in my book. Top with your favorite toppings and pop in the oven. Yum! Enjoy!

method Stove Top
yield 4 - 6 depending how big

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons water - or enough to hold together
  • couple pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • sometimes - i add italian herbs too
  • oil - for browning

How To Make ~ a cinch flat bread ~

  • Step 1
In a bowl, add flour, salt, baking powder and stir to combine. Add the olive oil and enough water for the dough to come together.
  • Step 2
I pinch off enough dough for the size of flat bread I want. Shape into a disk. Usually 1/4 of the dough for each. On a lightly floured surface, roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Step 3
Have a skillet heating up and add a drizzle of oil. When starts smoking a bit I add the dough. Fry until desired brownness occurs and dough begins to bubble on top.
  • Step 4
Flip and brown on other side. While warm I brush with either butter or olive oil. They are now ready for pizza toppings or be used for a sandwich. I store unused bread in a zip lock bag.
