  • 2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 c
    ground ham ~ i use country ham
  • 1 1/2 c
    shredded, sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper ~ optional
  • 3/4 - 1 c
    buttermilk or enough to moisten
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, melted

How to Make ~ Ham & Cheddar Biscuits ~


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degree F.

    Add the flour to a bowl. Cut in 1/2 cup butter with a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in the ham, mustard, pepper and cheese.
  3. Add the buttermilk; stir until a moist dough forms.

    Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10 - 13 minutes, or until lightly golden.

    Brush with melted butter.
