Woke up early and thought I'd try something a little different. My husband likes his biscuits on the dark side with a crispy top. This recipe surely does not disappoint! The cast iron delivers the crunch! Just turn it out onto your platter and cut into squares!

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, unsalted
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
How To Make cast iron buttermilk biscuits

Step 1Preheat oven to 450. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and pour into your cast iron skillet.

Step 2Combine all dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.

Step 3Add buttermilk and stir to combine. It will be sticky.

Step 4Pour mixture over the top of your melted butter, using your hand to press down to fill to edges.

Step 5Place in preheated 450 degree oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating pan one while baking.
