Buttermilk Biscuits With Strawberry Butter
2 1/2 tspbaking powder
1/2 tspbaking soda
2 Tbspbutter crisco
1/4 csoft butter
1-2 Tbspfavorite jam (i used strawberry)
How to Make Buttermilk Biscuits With Strawberry Butter
- Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter Crisco. Then add buttermilk and stir until soft dough is formed (about 25 strokes).
- Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth. Roll out to 1/2 inch for thick fluffy biscuits and a 1/4 inch for crusty thin biscuits.
- Cut with floured cutter. Put biscuits on greased pan. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until slightly golden. STRAWBERRY BUTTER-Mix 1/4 cup soft butter and 1 to 2 Tablespoons of strawberry jam or your favorite flavor of jam and put it in a small container to keep in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
