Buttermilk Biscuits With Strawberry Butter

  • 2 c
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter crisco

  • 1/4 c
    soft butter
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    favorite jam (i used strawberry)

How to Make Buttermilk Biscuits With Strawberry Butter


  1. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter Crisco. Then add buttermilk and stir until soft dough is formed (about 25 strokes).
  2. Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth. Roll out to 1/2 inch for thick fluffy biscuits and a 1/4 inch for crusty thin biscuits.
  3. Cut with floured cutter. Put biscuits on greased pan. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until slightly golden. STRAWBERRY BUTTER-Mix 1/4 cup soft butter and 1 to 2 Tablespoons of strawberry jam or your favorite flavor of jam and put it in a small container to keep in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
