Buttermilk Biscuits With Strawberry Butter

Whipped these up this morning for my husband and my grand daughter "little miss energy". They went to town on them! 8)

Ingredients

2 c
flour
2 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
1 c
buttermilk
2 Tbsp
butter crisco

STRAWBERRY BUTTER

1/4 c
soft butter
1-2 Tbsp
favorite jam (i used strawberry)

Step-By-Step

1Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter Crisco. Then add buttermilk and stir until soft dough is formed (about 25 strokes).
2Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth. Roll out to 1/2 inch for thick fluffy biscuits and a 1/4 inch for crusty thin biscuits.
3Cut with floured cutter. Put biscuits on greased pan. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until slightly golden. STRAWBERRY BUTTER-Mix 1/4 cup soft butter and 1 to 2 Tablespoons of strawberry jam or your favorite flavor of jam and put it in a small container to keep in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
