This was my grandmother's recipe. My grandmother was born in 1900, so this recipe was had a long life. By sharing it, I hope it continues to live on.

This dough will last in the fridge for a few days.

    warm water
  • 1/2 c

    self-rising flour

How to Make Yeast Biscuits


  1. Mix sugar and yeast with warm water.
  2. Add oil and part of flour.
  3. Chill in the fridge overnight, covered with an oiled cloth.
  4. Drop into greased muffin tins.
  5. Bake at 400-425 for 20 minutes.
