Williamsburg Buns

These are a cross between a biscuit and a scone. You can split one in half to use for a sandwich or just serve by itself with jam.
Ingredients

2 call purpose flour
-
2 1/2 tspbaking powder
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 ccurrants or raisins
-
2 Tbspgranulated sugar

1/2 cbuttermilk
-
1 Tbspsherry
How to Make Williamsburg Buns
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, currants or raisins and sugar in a bowl.
- Combine buttermilk and sherry in a measuring cup. Pour into flour mixture. Gently mix with hands into a soft dough.
- Press dough onto a lightly floured board. Shape into a 1/2 inch rectangle. Cut dough into rounds or squares. Place on a baking sheet that has been lightly greased.
- Bake for 14 to 18 minutes at 375 degrees until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
