kat's sweet potatoe yeast dinner rolls
This is because i had leftover mashed sweet potatoes from dinner, i didn't want to throw them out so i had to think of something to do with them and this is what i got

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cooked mashed sweet potatoes( cooled to room temp)
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons (small package) dry active yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
How To Make kat's sweet potatoe yeast dinner rolls

Step 1in a small cup add yeast to the warm water, stir and let sit about 5 minutes, in a large bowl sift flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together, cut in shortening, add milk, sweet potatoes and yeast to flour, stir together well

Step 2Flour area to roll and knead, place dough in center and knead, roll out to about 1/4 thick and using a medium or small biscuit cutter cut out rolls, place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in a 4oo degree preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, turn oven to broil and slightly brown the tops , remove from oven and brush top with melted butter

Step 3They do not rise as much as a yeast roll does, but they sure do taste good
