The English part of me likes a pot of tea and a nice warm scone on a rainy day when I am curled up with a good book. This recipe satisfies me. You can any dried fruit to jazz up your scone, me I like mine plain with butter and jam.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter, unsalted, cold & cut into pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream

How To Make scones

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375-degrees.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder; mix well. Using a pastry blender cut int the butter until crumbly.
  • Step 3
    Add cream; mix well until dough forms.
  • Step 4
    On a floured surface, knead dough 4-5 times. Press into a 8-inch round; place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step 5
    Cut into 8 wedges; do not separate.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 375-degrees for 18-23 minutes or until a light golden brown. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
