My English cousin used to make these regularly for tea-time and I'm afraid they lived up to their name! You could peg a squirrel with one of her rock cakes and it would never bother your cherry or plum tree again!

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1-1/2 ounce butter, room temperature
- 1-1/2 ounce sugar
- 2 ounces currants or sultanas
- 1 - egg
- a little - milk
How To Make rock cakes

Step 1Beat the butter into the flour, then add rest of dry ingredients and currants.

Step 2Mix to stiff dough with well-beaten egg and milk.

Step 3Bake in fairly hot oven 15 minutes.
