Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup lard (shortening)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 1/4 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups whole cold milk

How To Make red lobster biscuits

  • Step 1
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Place first 4 ingredients (or 2 1/2 cups baking mix) in a large bowl. Add the cayenne pepper, cream of tartar, bay seasoning, salt and garlic powder. Mix in the butter with a pastry cutter or large fork. There should be small chunks of butter left in there. Mix in the cheese, milk, and then add the sour cream. Don’t be afraid to get your hands in there! Scoop the biscuit dough out by big spoonfuls and place on a greased 9 x 13 casserole pan (using a cookie sheet may allow butter sauce to spill over). Now for the special garlic-herb butter topping … Topping 6 tablespoons butter, melted 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes 1 teaspoon of oregano pinch of salt Melt the butter. Stir in the garlic powder, parsley, oregano, and a pinch of salt. Spoon half of topping over the unbaked biscuits. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes (or until lightly brown). Remove the biscuits from the oven and brush the rest of the topping over them. Pop them back in for another 5 minutes or so (or until golden brown). Note: This should make about 20 biscuits or so. Get ‘em while they’re hot!
