Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
How To Make rebel biscuits

Step 1Place all ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly with a pastry cutter (the shortening should be broken down until about the size of a pea).

Step 2Roll out dough on a floured surface (fairly thick) and cut with a cookie cutter.

Step 3Bake at 450 for about 10 to 12 minutes or until desired brownness occurs. Serve with lots of fresh butter, honey, sorghum syrup, jams or jellies.
