quick buttermilk biscuits
(1 RATING)
I wanted a quick and simple biscuit recipe. I grew up on homemade buttermilk biscuits and this is pretty close to what my granny used to make...I adapted this from a recipe that makes a huge batch, because I only need a few at the time...also works great for a pot pie topping.

How To Make quick buttermilk biscuits
-
Step 1Heat oven to 475%. Mix all ingredients until dough leaves sides of bowl and begins to form a ball. You can adjust how wet or dry your batter is now. You can either turn dough onto a floured surface, roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut out biscuits, or you can pat biscuits out by hand...or like I do when I am in a hurry, plop out heaping tablespoons full onto a cookie sheet. Brush the tops with a little extra melted butter. Bake at 475 for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tops begin to brown lightly.

Step 2Remove, slice and add butter. This is also great as a pot pie topping...
