- 7 cups flour,sifted
- 1 cup hog lard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/3 cup cold milk

Step 1Blend dry ingredients.Using the fingers,work in the lard until the mixture is fine.Add cold milk to make a stiff dough.Run the dough the bread brake until it starts popping and talkingback to you.Takes about 30 minutes.Fold dough each time to incoporate air between layers.Finally roll out the dough 1/2-inch thick.Cut with cutter and prick with fork all the way through-this hold flaky layers together.Bake at 350*F.for 25 minutes.Serve with country ham
