maine maple danish twists
These danish are a delight for breakfast, coffee break or for that "I have to have something sweet" time. They are made with Maine Maple Syrup and very special because the syrup comes from my dad's maple trees.

Ingredients
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 - egg
How To Make maine maple danish twists

Step 1Preheat oven to 425 F degrees

Step 2Mix cream cheese, confectioner's sugar, and butter. Set aside.

Step 3Mix brown sugar, nuts, and syrup in ungreased 13x9x2 inch pan. Spread evenly.

Step 4Roll the dough out into a 16.9 inch rectanble. Spread with the cream cheese mixture.

Step 5Carefully fold the dough lengthwise into thirds. Press edges to seal securely. Cut into 16 one inch strips. Gently twist ends of strips in opposide directions. Arrange on the brown sugar mixture.

Step 6Bake at 425 degrees F until brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from baking dish while still hot with a metal spatula and place on heat proof serving tray.

Step 7Delicious hot right out of the oven even outside while it is snowing. My husband says these are delicious.
